Are you tired of waiting in long lines but worried that your coffee won’t taste as good as your favorite barista’s? You’re not alone. Let me save your $8 coffee run and help you make a cafe-style iced latte without an espresso machine.

No Espresso Machine? No Problem.

You can make an iced latte without an espresso machine using just a few simple ingredients (after all, a latte is just espresso and milk!)

  1. Instant espresso (I use instant Nespresso!)
  2. Milk (whole, skim, almond, oat, etc.—choose your favorite for flavor or creaminess!)
  3. Ice
  4. Optional: sweetener, syrup, flavor

Coffee-to-Milk Guide

Before you dive in, it’s key to understand how to create the perfect strength and flavor for your iced latte. This is the most helpful step when it comes to making an iced latte without an espresso machine. For a more in-depth ratio, follow this article. Simply put: the more milk you add, the creamier and milder your latte will be; the less milk you add, the stronger the coffee flavor will be. Adjust Your Iced Latte Strength

Balanced: 1 part coffee to 4 parts milk

Step-by-Step Without an Espresso Machine

  1. Get 1-2 tsps. of your instant espresso (1 tsp = 1 shot) and put it in your glass.
  2. Heat up 1/4 to 1/2 tbsp of water and add it to the glass with instant espresso, then mix. (do not boil; this is just so the powder mixes more efficiently.)
  3. This is an optional step if you have a sweetener or syrup. (I like to use caramel syrup or cookie butter creamer for the winter season!)
  4. Fill the same glass with ice.
  5. Pour your desired milk over the ice, and adjust the amount to your taste! (I use a 1:4 ratio for a balanced flavor.)
