Have you ever gone to bed dreaming about the iced coffee you are going to make when you wake up? Well, don’t worry, I’ll help those coffee dreams become a reality. In this Ke step-by-step guide, I can help you brew an iced coffee that will kickstart your day (or night)! Whether you’re a coffee newbie or a Keurig pro, let’s get brewing!
What You’ll Need
- Keurig coffee maker—This is the heart of the operation. Mine has a dedicated “iced” button, but if yours does not, it can still work!
- Your preferred coffee pod (K-cup)— I enjoy a lighter roast from my local grocery store, but you can choose medium or dark for a bolder taste
- Ice cubes—these not only keep your coffee cold but can also alter the strength of your brew! Add as many as your heart desires
- Optional extras—this is where you can make it your own. Add milk, cream, flavored syrups, sugar, or alternative sweeteners. I like to add Chobani Caramel Creamer as well as Torani Caramel syrup!
Now that we have all our materials, let’s get started.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Prepare the Keurig
- Make sure the water in the reservoir is filled to the indicated line
- Grab a cup (preferably larger) and fill it with ice
- I fill my cup a little over halfway so that there is still a bit of ice once the coffee starts brewing
- Brew the coffee
- Open the lid of the Keurig and place your pod in designated spot
- Select your brew size—I usually go with the small or medium option so that my coffee isn’t watered down
- Start your brew directly over ice by selecting your Keurig’s designated button (buttons may vary depending on Keurig variation)
- Instantly chilling the brewed coffee helps maintain its flavor; just letting hot coffee cool down would make it bitter and stale
- Customize!
- I like to add more ice because I simply love ice.
- This is where you can add milk, cream, sugar, syrups, etc. (measure with your heart!)
- Enjoy!
- For the best taste, enjoy right away or shortly after making it
- I hope this becomes your new iced coffee craving
Common Mistakes
- Brewing too large of coffee could result in a watery or diluted taste
- Leaving your pods in after brewing (use each pod once for the best results)
